Morning light spreads across the pond while ducks and geese drift past, and you watch it all from the backyard with a warm mug in your hands. It is quiet out here. The day hasn't asked anything of you yet.

The house has three bedrooms and two baths and sleeps six, with the kitchen, two bedrooms, and a bath all on the ground floor. Dry firewood waits by the fire pit, s'mores fixings included, and the grill handles dinner as the sky darkens over the pond. A hammock covers the lazy hours in between.

Hunter Mountain is about 30 minutes away for skiing and snowboarding, and hiking trails wind through the hills around Cairo. Hudson and Woodstock make easy day trips for good restaurants and wandering, and you're home in time for sparks rising into the cold night air.
