Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows pour light across the great room, where a wood-burning fireplace crackles and a record player turns through a stack of vinyl. The open kitchen has a six-burner Wolf range and a coffee bar with French press, pour-over and Nespresso, beside a table that seats a crowd. Four bedrooms and three and a half baths sleep eight, with a steam shower in the top-floor suite.

Below, the walk-out level opens onto the patio and a cedar barrel sauna whose panoramic window frames the ski slopes. After dark, Adirondack chairs circle the fire pit, s'mores supplies at the ready. A playroom with a tipi tent and shelves of toys keeps small children busy for hours.

Windham is about twelve minutes away and Hunter about fifteen, for skiing, ziplining and snow tubing. Pratt Rock and West Kill Mountain offer trails for every pace, and a West Kill brewery makes an easy stop on the way back. The Phoenicia Diner, about twenty minutes off, is worth a long breakfast.
