Your morning in Kingston starts on the front porch with a breakfast sandwich from Sissy's, the Stockade district waking up as neighbors stroll past. Back inside, a kettle and fine teas wait beside the pour-over, along with snacks set out for the group.

The home takes up the first and second floors of a restored townhouse, with four bedrooms, two baths, and room for ten. Each floor has its own kitchen, so everyone spreads out with ease. Original floors run beneath high tin ceilings, a carved wooden mantel holds a display of antique hand tools, and a pair of claw-foot tubs promise a long evening soak. Modern art, bright textiles and green plants keep every room lively, and there is always one more curious piece to discover.

Out back, a grassy yard with an outdoor dining area invites a late supper and a small fire as the evening cools. After dark the street turns quiet, and room-darkening shades let the morning arrive slowly.

Everything is on foot. Front Street's shops, bookshops and bars are about five minutes away, Lola's pizza is an easy stroll, Senate Garage is a few blocks off, and the Saturday farmers market is just steps from the door. When you want the water, the Rondout neighborhood is a short drive down the hill.
