Architect-Designed Contemporary Cabin

About this property

In the woods outside Accord, sunrise pours through the oversized windows of the primary bedroom and catches the forest, so you wake feeling as if you slept in a treehouse. Downstairs, the polished concrete floors are already warm under bare feet.

White oak stadium stairs lead through rooms hung like a gallery, with a double-height dining room under soaring glass. The oversized island and gas stove make it easy to cook every meal in, and a Nespresso machine waits for the first cup. Two queen bedrooms and three full baths sleep four, and a green reading room with a window seat keeps a quiet corner for a book.

Behind the house, five acres of woods are yours to wander, and early mornings can bring deer across the backyard, with woodpeckers and chipmunks in the trees. Evenings move outside to the fire pit under twinkle lights and something sizzling on the charcoal grill, then back in to a Danish wood-burning stove as the windows go dark.

By day, Mohonk and Minnewaska parks are an easy drive for long hikes, and nearby farms let you pick berries in season. Restaurants and coffee shops are ten to fifteen minutes away, Westwind is close by, and the breweries and cideries of Ulster County wait for a late afternoon pour.
