Original Stone House

About this property

In Accord, morning light spills across the pond just outside the kitchen windows, and the coffee is brewing while birds skim low over the water. The whole day stretches ahead of you.

Inside the 185-year-old stone farmhouse, old walls frame a chef's kitchen with a bar, a huge stove and room for several people to cook side by side. The sunroom fills with sun, books and baskets of toys, a train set included, and four bedrooms with two baths sleep six, with a copper soaking tub in the primary suite. On cool nights the wood-burning fireplace glows.

Outside, ten acres of meadow, woods and gardens open up around you. Afternoons drift between the heated pool and the edge of the pond, where a fishing line can fill an hour. After dark the fire pit crackles beside the stone patio while the meadow goes quiet under the old trees.

When you do head out, Minnewaska State Park and the Ashokan Reservoir offer trails, and Saunderskill Farms sells the produce for tonight's dinner. Stone Ridge and Rosendale are close for an afternoon of browsing, and Arrowood Brewery pours a cold one on the drive back as the light turns gold over the fields.
