Mountainside House with Pool

About this property

The sun drops behind the forested ridge while you float at the edge of the saltwater infinity pool, the sky turning orange over the mountains. Nobody wants to get out.

Inside, four bedrooms and three baths sleep ten, and the open kitchen, living, and dining rooms keep everyone together over long meals. A big den with an oversized sofa offers a quieter corner, and on cool nights the wood-burning fireplace sets the mood. A playroom with huge windows holds puzzles, books, a piano, and board games, with foosball for the older crowd.

Outside, a wide lawn rolls toward the trees, where deer, rabbits, and the occasional tiny painted turtle turn up for anyone patient enough to look. Steam rises from the hot tub beside the water, the grill handles dinner, and later the fire pit crackles under the stars. A hammock waits for the lazy hours in between.

For a day out in Woodbourne's corner of the Catskills, saddle up for a guided trail ride at Braden Brook stables, then hike the Red Hill Fire Tower trail for a long look across the hills. Grocery stores are close, so the drive back can end with everything you need for one more evening on the patio.
