Dutch Hill Cottage

About this property

Morning coffee on the wide front porch looks down the hill toward the Neversink River, the valley still hushed and deer moving along the edge of the field. Two hammocks swing beside the chairs. By evening the same view turns gold at sunset.

Inside, rustic chic design meets charming Dutch touches across three floors, with five bedrooms and three baths that sleep 14. The kitchen is stocked for real cooking, and its island is where everyone ends up. On cold nights the wood stove warms the whole house, while the finished basement holds a 65-inch TV for movies.

Ten acres of rolling hills run up to the forest, and trails start right behind the house. After dark the backyard glows around the fire pit and charcoal grill, and the hot tub steams under strings of twinkling lights. In summer, a short walk down the driveway brings you to the river for a cool dip or a lazy float, and dogs are welcome along for all of it.

Shops and restaurants in Monticello are about five minutes by car. Holiday Mountain is roughly two miles away for skiing and snow tubing, and Resorts World Casino, the Kartrite Water Park and the concert stages at Bethelwoods are each about twelve minutes off. Closer still, the Neversink Unique Area leads you through the woods to the rush of Mullet Falls.
