High Point Meadows

About this property

In Olivebridge, morning light pours through the wall of glass in the vaulted great room, and beyond it the pond, the meadows, and High Point Mountain wake up while deer drift across the grass. Fresh eggs from the resident hens wait for breakfast.

Old barn beams frame the open space, Mexican tiles brighten a kitchen stocked for real cooking, and a shelf of vinyl turns dinner into a listening party. Three bedrooms and two baths sleep eight, with a bunk room full of books downstairs and, up a spiral staircase, a main suite where a skylight holds the stars above the bed. In winter, the wood stove keeps it all warm.

Outside, twelve acres open up. Swim in the spring-fed pond or row along its edges, then rinse off in an outdoor shower hidden in a bamboo grove. Trails wind through the woods past a treehouse, and evenings end around the fire pit under a sky thick with constellations.

The Ashokan Reservoir is a few minutes away, High Falls and Rosendale are closer still, and Woodstock and Kingston are about thirty minutes out. Come back from dinner at Arrowood Farms and settle onto the broad deck, listening to the frogs call across the water.
