Inside, the old coach house opens into one combined kitchen and living room, finished with a modern, eclectic eye and seating you can sink into. Two roomy bedrooms and one bath sleep four, plenty for two couples. A full kitchen with an oven and coffee maker, thick towels, and a washer and dryer take care of the practical side.

Mornings begin with coffee and that mountain view through the window, the light moving slowly across the valley. A private entrance makes the cottage feel entirely yours, and a dedicated workspace helps if a little work follows you north. On cold days the heat keeps every corner snug.

The village of Saugerties is about five minutes by car, its main strip close at hand for an easy afternoon wander. The horse show is nearby, skiing is within reach in winter, and the wider Hudson Valley and Catskills open out in every direction, waiting for tomorrow's drive.
