Morning light pours through tall windows onto exposed brick as the coffee bar warms up, and Main Street's cafés are only a couple of blocks away on foot. The house dates to around 1900, restored with care and plenty of room to spare.

The kitchen is where everyone ends up, with marble counters, a five-burner Bosch gas cooktop, double ovens, two sinks and a well-stocked spice drawer for long dinners in. Three bedrooms and three baths sleep six, and the primary suite has Brooklinen bedding, a rain shower and a soaking tub. Downstairs, a front parlor, a TV room with an exercise bike and a sunny entry room give each person a corner of their own.

French doors open onto a fully fenced backyard shaded by a sugar maple, where songbirds visit and a dog can run free. Evenings bring the grill and the fire pit under the stars.

By day, walk into the village for coffee, ice cream at Alleyway and dinner, or drive about 15 minutes to Woodstock or Kingston. Kaaterskill Falls, Opus 40 and the slopes of Hunter Mountain wait a little farther out, and the Saugerties lighthouse makes a pleasant stop by the river.
