Inside, the 1870s farmhouse is all tall windows and soft light, with four bedrooms and three full baths for up to eight. The open chef's kitchen has a huge island where someone can always keep the cook company, and the long wooden dining table invites slow dinners and board games. Evenings drift to the living room, where the wood-burning fireplace crackles.

Out back, two acres of grass and trees open up, with a hammock strung for lazy afternoons. After dark, the fire pit is ready for s'mores, and the outdoor hot tub steams in every season. In the barn, a ping pong table, a dartboard and a pair of mountain bikes wait for a rematch.

Stone Ridge is about five minutes away for dinner and groceries, and New Paltz and Kingston are each roughly fifteen. Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska make easy hiking days. On the way back, a pizza from Ollie's, less than five minutes from the door, closes out a long day outdoors.
