Serenity on 105 Acres

About this property

Your first coffee on the deck brings deer stepping out of the trees as sunrise spreads over the mountains. The woods begin just past the lawn, and all 105 acres are yours to wander.

Inside, the 1960s mid-century house is big windows and natural light, with four bedrooms and three baths for up to ten. Handmade pottery mugs and bowls line the kitchen shelves, and the kitchen gives several cooks room to work at once. On cold nights the wood-burning fireplace crackles near the sunroom, and a second living room holds the movie crowd.

Outside, open grass gives kids space to run, and trails wind through the trees on the property, where wild turkeys, rabbits and red-shouldered hawks keep you company. Hillside hammocks hold a book and a long afternoon. After dinner on the grill, everyone gathers around the fire pit while the woods go quiet.

Ellenville is about five minutes away for restaurants and groceries, and the glacier lakes and trails of Minnewaska are roughly twenty minutes off. In fall the leaves light up the whole hillside, so come back in time to watch the sunset from the covered balcony.
