Stylish Lakeside Cottage

About this property

Steam lifts off the hot tub into the cold night air while Greenwood Lake goes dark beyond the deck and the far shore fades to a line of woods and mountain. Across the water there's a protected marsh, so the view stays wild.

Inside, the cottage pairs a nod to seventies chalet style with bright art and modern finishes, and its two bedrooms and two baths sleep six. The primary bedroom opens straight onto the deck, so sunrise on the water reaches you in bed. Evenings belong to the gas fireplace and a record player stocked with vinyl.

Downstairs, a game room with a lake view holds a professional ping pong table and shelves of board games, and a spa bathroom with a three-head walk-in shower leads out to the soak. Out back, two kayaks launch from the little dock, swans and ducks drift past, and the fire pit waits by the water for s'mores after dark.

In the morning you can walk across the road for coffee and a farm market with a taphouse, or spend the afternoon at the lifeguarded beach with the free passes. Warwick and its orchards are a short drive, the Appalachian Trail is about four minutes away, and Mt. Peter is close for winter skiing. On the way back, stop for Bellvale Farms Creamery ice cream at the top of the mountain.
