Lakefront Home

About this property

Evening light turns the lake gold while a fire crackles at the water's edge, and the only plan left is another round of s'mores. The lawn runs from the house down to a private dock, where you can cast a line for brown trout as the sun drops behind the trees.

Inside, the two-level colonial sleeps 8 across four bedrooms and two and a half baths, with a generous main bedroom upstairs. The renovated kitchen looks straight out at the water, so coffee at the small table comes with the view. Two living rooms and a wood-burning fireplace keep cool nights warm and easy.

Days drift between the heated pool, the hot tub on its raised platform above the lake, and a canoe or kayak pushed off at dawn. When rain rolls in, the basement takes over with billiards, ping pong, darts and an Xbox. The wide yard holds frisbee and spikeball until dinner comes off the grill.

Downtown Monroe's restaurants and groceries are a few minutes away by car, and Woodbury Commons and Legoland are within about twenty minutes. Spend an afternoon wandering Warwick, then finish with a cone at Bellvale Farms Creamery while the hills soften in the late light.
