Riverfront Mid-Century House

About this property

Morning coffee on the screened porch arrives with the Hudson spread out below, tugboats working the current, the bridge stretched across the distance and, with luck, a bald eagle gliding over the water. The light changes by the hour. Mist one morning, gold the next.

Inside, the mid-century house opens around a two-story living room where floor-to-ceiling windows pour light into every corner. Five bedrooms and three and a half baths sleep up to twelve, the kitchen is stocked for serious group cooking, and playful art turns up on wall after wall. Evenings move between a log fire downstairs and a gas fire upstairs, then on to the pool table and foosball.

In summer the heated gunite pool stretches out below the house with chaises, an outdoor shower and long afternoons in the sun. A hot tub stays warm all year, and on cool nights the fire pit glows beside a fenced lawn where dogs can run and deer sometimes wander through at dusk.

Downtown Newburgh is minutes away for dinner, and Beacon lies about ten minutes across the bridge, with Dia Beacon and Storm King Arts Park each around fifteen. Get back in time to watch the river turn silver from the upper dining deck.
