Crystal Wave Lake House

About this property

Morning light comes off the water through the bay windows while cardinals and bluejays flit past, and now and then a bald eagle drops to the lake for a fish. Lake Peekskill wraps the property on three sides, so the water shows up in window after window.

Kitchen, dining table and living room share one big open space, roomy enough to cook a holiday dinner and still talk with everyone. Four bedrooms and three full baths sleep 14, with the primary bedroom upstairs facing the water and a family room below. A few steps out, a renovated cottage holds a pool table, ping pong, darts and a yoga corner.

Out back, the grass runs right to the shore. Paddle a kayak or canoe toward the little beach, cast for sunnies and bass, then fire up the grill as the evening lights of the houses across the lake shimmer on the water.

West Point and the Village of Cold Spring are each about thirty minutes away, and downtown Peekskill's restaurants are under fifteen. Bear Mountain State Park waits across the Hudson for a day of hiking, and a short walk brings you to the Lakeside Cafe.
