Five-Bedroom Mountain House

About this property

Evening settles over the Hudson Valley from the wraparound deck, the grill still warm, the mountains turning gold, and the stars arriving one by one above the trees. Up here the only sounds are the woods and your own people.

Inside, the open living space flows into a kitchen made for big meals, with a Viking gas stove, long counters, and a dining table that becomes the game table after dinner. Five bedrooms and two baths sleep up to 16, and the windows look out on mountain and valley. Little ones get their own playroom stocked with toys and books.

Out back, the lawn spreads toward a playground, sandbox, trampoline, and zip line, while a river stone patio lit by tiki torches holds the late conversations. Later the fire pit crackles and the marshmallows come out. A hiking trail starts within walking distance of the door.

West Point is about 10 minutes away, and Storm King Art Center is a short drive through the hills. Browse the shops and restaurants in Cornwall, stop at Jones Farm, or cross to Beacon for an afternoon at Dia Beacon. Then carry takeout from Hudson Taco back up the mountain and eat outside as the valley goes dark.
