Modern Country House

About this property

Snow settles on the woods beyond the kitchen windows while a pot simmers on the gas stove and everyone drifts toward the long farm table. The house is modern and full of daylight, and the open kitchen, dining room and cozy den beside them all face the trees.

Five bedrooms and three baths sleep up to 14, and the layout gives everyone room to spread out. Lounges and nooks let you gather or slip away with a book from the well-stocked shelves, while a wood-burning fireplace warms the evenings. A ping pong table, a piano and a playroom full of toys keep every age busy.

Outside, a sprawling green yard edged by woods holds swings and a slide, a hammock, and trails for wandering. Mornings bring birdsong with your coffee. After dark the fire pit crackles and the hot tub steams under a sky thick with stars.

Main Street in Cold Spring is under ten minutes away by car, with shops, restaurants and a train station on the Hudson Line. Hiking trails lie close by, Beacon is about 20 minutes off, and Boscobel and Magazzino Italian Art make an easy afternoon. In summer, ripe berries wait to be picked on the way home.
